Almost 9 years ago, the journey of skincare hit me hard! I was prepping our baby nursery & was organizing all of the skincare bundles we had received from our baby shower. As I was organizing I was basing everything off of "ALL NATURAL" and the scent. I had NO idea what was in all of the products. I knew the smell, I knew the pretty packaging & I "knew" all natural plastered on the bottle.
Fast forward...our first daughter wasn't as sensitive so the oatmeal & lavender based products from big box stores worked fine. Our second daughter...well she brought on a whole new meaning of skincare! Scents...yeah they instantly put her into a whole body rash. The struggles. No one gives you a clear, definitive answer when it comes to skincare. I kept hearing "oh if that doesn't sit well with her skin, stop using & try this "all natural" product".
When dealing with a colicky baby, the last thing I wanted to do was make her even more miserable with her skin burning or breaking out. If it wasn't bad enough, we then got struck with ezcema. Full body flare ups...yeah I never knew what that looked like before. I was TERRIFIED! I was scared to put anything on her skin because I already knew she would flare up...and she was covered with dry spots. Let's talk about a MAMA GUILT! I felt like I was failing! I didn't have a solution to just make it better!
We tried no joke over 20 different ointments and creams to "tame" down the ezcema flare ups. If you have never used these creams or prescription ointments, much like myself, you won't know about the BURN! These creams are supposed to help, but when applied they burn! I thought I had started to see the light at the end of the tunnel...only to sit and listen to my baby scream bloody murder every time the creams and ointments were applied!
Finally, I said NO MORE! I was following a fellow mama blogger and she was talking about this company that saved her daughter's skin. I had followed her journey with her daughter's extreme case of ezcema & while our case with our daughter was not nearly as severe it made me question why wasn't I trying these products.
I finally went on and ordered the body wash, hair wash, all over ointment & everyday lotion. When it arrived I was skeptical, as you may have already guessed, because we have tried so many different options and nothing worked. The first bath I was AMAZED! Ezcema after baths usually resulted in very RED skin. She definitely had red spots, but nothing crazy or out of the ordinary. Next up, the dreaded part...lotion! However this time I applied the all over ointment & NO SCREAMING! It was only one of the few times that I can honestly say I didn't have to tackle a bear to apply lotion! (cue mama tears).... the overwhelming sense of joy! Now it was just a matter of waiting to see if the products would help or if she would develop any reaction!!
Friends....we have been using these products for 5 years now! All 3 daughters use, 2 with extremely sensitive skin. They are GENTLE, but they work!! Baby acne on cheeks, the all of ointment works WONDERS!
If you are reading this post and thinking "this is me...this is my kids.." do yourself and your kids a favor and purchase your own! As a mama who had tried everything, prescription and non-prescription...these products were a godsend!
