DIY Easy Bake Oven Recipes

Updated: Dec 15, 2023

If you are gifting an easy bake oven this year. Or if you have a daughter who currently has an easy bake oven, you will want to check out this tutorial to save you money on all of the baking sets!

A couple Christmas's ago we did a sister joint gift of an easy bake oven. I was looking at all of the baking sets and couldn't believe how expensive they were for a single box. Not too mention I was nervous of how long they were on the shelf! Yes I know shelf life and stores ... but still I knew there had to be a way for me to make kits & save money!

Off to the store I went!

Supplies:

Cake mix of choice

Brownie mix of choice

Sprinkles of choice

Frosting of choice

Small clear bags

Stapler

Table Place Cards

Return Address Labels

Printer

You will measure out all of the cake mix in each bag.

Sprinkles in separate bag. I rolled them up to seal, then stapled bag. You will then take the table place cards and put over the section you have rolled up and stapled. Staple the place cards on the bags. You will go on your computer & go to the return address labels template and customize your labels with the instructions. Print & put labels on the place cards.

It's such a simple DIY that will save you money & it looks so pretty! These will last for a long time for your little easy bake oven child!

Put in a storage container of choice & store!

We also grabbed some mini utensils for their oven, I just purchased them at our local grocery store but you can find mini utensils almost at any grocery store, Walmart, Target, Michael's, Hobby Lobby or JoAnn Fabric.

Enjoy and have fun with this little DIY project!

To make the easy bake oven mixes:

Sift each cake mix into a large bowl. There will be chunks of dried strawberries in the Strawberry Supreme cake mix -- these can just be discarded.

Measure each mix into precise 1/4 cup portions by spooning the mix into a 1/4 cup measuring cup, and then leveling it off with a knife. Place each portion in a Ziploc snack bag and label (find printable labels here and here). You should end up with about 11 refills per box of cake mix.

To bake each refill mix:

Preheat your Easy Bake Oven for 20 minutes.

Lightly spray the Easy Bake pan with Pam Baking Spray. Here's a tip for making this less messy.

When the Easy Bake Oven is done preheating, mix the bagged refill with 2 tablespoons of water and spread it evenly in the prepared Easy Bake pan.

Bake in the Easy Bake Ultimate Oven for approximately 17 minutes.

Cool for 5 minutes, then frost and decorate with sprinkles.

That's all for now!
