Do you find yourself vacuuming daily? Maybe multiple times a day? If you live alone, I can understand why you are saying no. In our house, 3 young kids & a furry golden retriever, I have robot vacuums going daily & myself going around with the handheld vacuum daily! I always love how tidy and clean everything looks when I vacuum, but does it really get clean? I had to clean our entryway rug, our main entrance, between dog hair, sand/salt and just regular traffic our black rug was looking not so black. It's funny when you think black will cover all the dirt, not true!
I did a little video of cleaning to show you just how much your vacuum actually doesn't suck up or clean. It's a little disturbing actually. My little PSA...deep clean your rugs on a weekly, bi weekly basis. This was 1 month between shampooing & it was disgusting. Not only the dirt aspect, but just think about all those feet tracking dirt/germs everywhere throughout the house. We wipe feet off, then walk into kitchen, then back onto the carpet to track it down the carpeted steps to the basement living area.
Have I found the best vacuum? No! Is there such thing? I will share all of the links here of what we currently use & what I have found to be the best thus far. I am always on the hunt for a better vacuum, because they will eventually have the best suction, the best trap for hair, lightweight, convenient vacuum right? Well there is always hope!
The handheld that I use is the Ryobi 18-Volt ONE + Evercharge Charger. The reason I wanted this particular brand was because that is what we use for all our tools, batteries are universal! It has great suction, lightweight, love all the attachments and the mounted charging base to hang it in closet and out of way, while it charges.
We have 2 RoboVacs, I use both upstairs to speed up the process and sometimes I have one downstairs and one upstairs, double duty. The first one that we got was the Eufy by Anker, it does a great job, on hardwood, tile & carpet. No issues with the rugs. The second one we have is the iHome 2-in-1 G. Both are great and do well on all flooring.
The one recommendation I have is get a carpet shampoo vac. I don't know why it took me so long to get one, I honestly was thinking the professional beasts that are so difficult to move, never wanted one. When I got our carpet cleaner from Walmart the Bissel Powerforce Powerbrush it was $89 and didn't think it would do a good job, but I am so impressed!! Not only does it clean carpets tremendously, it is small & easy to get into small spaces without the hassle of moving all the furniture and things! Easy quick cleans, great for big deep cleans, you can't go wrong. What I like about the carpet cleaner is that even though I vacuum daily, all the human hair and dog hair still linger in rugs, so when I shampoo them, all the hair is pulled up and the rugs thoroughly get cleaned. We have lot of allergies in our house, so the least I can do is make sure that carpets and rugs are thoroughly cleaned regularly! Tip: I don't use carpet shampoo, I simply fill water canister and put in a few drops of Dawn Dish Soap. It does a wonderful job, without leaving any residue on carpet/rugs and no scent left in the air. Even the scent free shampoo that you can buy has a smell, with allergies in our household, it is one less thing to worry about.
While cleaning the entry way, I also had to clean tile, grout and baseboards. It get filthy between kids, pets & everyday traffic. Plus I HATE THIS TILE AND GROUT! Whoever thought tan grout was cute, was so wrong! Tan looks dirty brand new, so 20+ years looks awful, even after scrubbing! The cleaning hack I have found that works the best, Tub + Shower cleaner!
Enjoy this sped up version of cleaning our entryway rug & flooring!
That's all for now.
