Have I mentioned...

Have I mentioned that I LOVE stick n peel wallpaper. I can't believe those words are coming out of my mouth...but it happened! I love shiplap. I love stick n peel wallpaper. I will tell you why...If you have a 1950's home like we do...you know all about PLASTER WALLS. They are terrible!

The only way to make a plaster wall look good...is to cover it up. There is my #1 tip. Unless you want to rip them down and put up sheet rock...cover them up!! Do the thing. Whether it be shiplap, board and batten, wallpaper, whatever you have to do to update your space while making those plaster walls get a face lift, do it!

We have shiplap on our bedroom exterior wall, as well as an accent small wall in the kitchen. We did board and batten on the exterior kitchen wall. Stick n peel in our hallway closet turned pantry. I just finished stick n peel in the girls bedroom (that post coming soon). One that I wanted to share & I think the best transformation was our back entryway. It was a matte gray that we painted when we first bought our house...I hated the shine of semi gloss so I was a huge matte paint gal. The problem with matte...kids and their dirty little paws make matte look dirty SO FAST! I will eventually repaint the entry way and get rid of the remaining matte gray paint, but I wanted a "wow" factor when you walked in the back door, because it is our main entrance. I have an obsession with brick. I don't know why...and no it isn't red brick. I eventually want a brick floor for the kitchen, because the tile that was in our house is my least favorite tile flooring! That is for another future project! I used stick n peel on the back wall of our hallway, as a simple accent!

So back to my brick obsession. I found stick n peel faux brick... I didn't know how fake it would look so I was hesitant. I don't know about you...but I have to physically see something up on the wall before I can make the final decision. I put the wallpaper up & LOVED it. Maybe it looks fake. Maybe it looks shiny with the lights on...but it makes the entryway POP! I was actually quite impressed.

I get so many questions on my IG stories and Tiktok about "WHY WALLPAPER"...to that I say...It isn't traditional wallpaper, there is NO MESS! The biggest thing for me, if I want to change it next year...I CAN! It isn't the hassle of repainting over a color I am sick of. It isn't scraping old wallpaper. It isn't chiseling off brick and mortar because I no longer like the look of brick in the entryway. Do you see the pattern? It is a SIMPLE update! It is a SIMPLE fix if you are like me and constantly change the decor and look of rooms. Could I paint most of the designs I have used ...absolutely. But then you have to prime, paint several coats to cover it up when you get sick of it. Now I can simple peel it off wall and figure out the next plan of action.

As I always say...Work Smarter Not Harder.

That's all for now.

XO- KK
